Brazil Business Visa (VIVIS) Requirements & Processing

📍 What Is the Brazil VIVIS Business Visa?

The Brazil VIVIS visa is a business visa issued to those who are not eligible for the e-Visa. The Brazil VIVIS visa is used for short-term business travel such as:

  • Business meetings

  • Conferences

  • Trade activities

It does not allow employment or technical services while in Brazil.


⏱️ Processing Time

Brazil business visa processing takes:

  • Minimum 11–15 business days

Applicants should be prepared for longer processing times depending on the consulate.

There is no expedited service available.


📄 Required Documents

Applicants must provide the following:

  • Passport

    • Must be signed

    • Must contain at least two blank visa pages

  • Passport Photo

    • Must be taken within the last 6 months

  • Proof of Residency

    • Copy of driver’s license

    • State ID

    • Or a recent utility bill

  • Brazil Visa Application Form


🏢 Business Documentation

You must also provide:

  • Business cover letter

    • Must be notarized and apostilled

    • Apostille and notarization must be completed in the same state where the company is located

    • Must clearly state:
      “No technical assistance will be performed while in Brazil.”


✈️ Travel & Financial Documentation

Additional required documents include:

  • Round-trip flight itinerary

  • Copy of U.S. visa status or green card (for non-U.S. citizens)

  • Copies of the last three bank statements


🛣️ Overland Entry or Departure

If you will enter or exit Brazil over land, you must include:

  • A notarized Letter for Overland Entry or Departure
