Passport Validity & the 6-Month Rule

Learn when you should renew before traveling.

📍 Can I Travel With Less Than 6 Months of Validity?

In most cases, no.

Many countries require your passport to:

  • Be valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry

  • Have at least one or two blank visa pages

Airlines may deny boarding if your passport does not meet the destination country’s requirements.

💡 What Should I Do?

  • Check your passport expiration date before booking travel

  • Review official country requirements prior to departure at https://travel.state.gov/content/travel.html

  • Renew early if your passport is approaching expiration

Swift cannot override entry requirements set by foreign governments.
