When You’ll Receive a Tracking Number
Learn when tracking numbers are issued for visa and passport services, where to find them, and why timing can vary.
📍 Where to Find This
Once your passport ships, you can find your tracking number:
-
In an email notification sent by Swift
Tracking information only appears after your passport has shipped.
🧾 How Tracking Numbers Are Issued
Tracking numbers are created when Swift hands your package to FedEx.
The timing depends on the type of service you’re using and when processing is completed.
Swift does not generate tracking numbers in advance.
⏱️ Visa Services: Tracking Timing
For China visa and other visa services:
-
Swift picks up passports from the consulate on the date of completion
-
Pickups occur in the afternoon
-
Tracking numbers are typically posted by the end of the business day
It is normal not to see tracking information earlier in the day.
📘 Passport Services: Tracking Timing
For passport renewal or expedited passport services:
-
Tracking numbers are issued the same business day Swift receives your new passport
-
Tracking is usually available by the end of that business day
Processing must be fully completed before shipping occurs.
🔎 Why You May Not See Tracking Yet
Common reasons tracking is not visible yet include:
-
Your visa is completed but pickup is scheduled for later in the day
-
FedEx has not scanned the package yet
-
The business day has not ended
-
Government holidays or carrier delays
These situations do not indicate a problem with your order.
